This week we would like to share our heartfelt appreciation for one of our long-term local Kitty Cuddler volunteers, Aran of TorC. Aran consistently visits our resident felines twice weekly. Not only does Aran show up to brighten their morning by giving each one of them his loving personal attention, but he also generously donates items to enrich their lives, including portable heaters, cat and kitten food, an automatic shut-off hot pot for heating water, a heated blanket for the Kitty Corner.  

We remind our animal-loving friends who shop at our local Bullocks Grocery store, to please save your Bullocks receipts for us. The store’s community-minded Cash for Clubs program invites our 501-c-3 non-profit charitable organization to exchange Bullocks receipts for dollars for our organization. Please save your receipts and drop them off at the Williamsburg Post Office and at Paws & Claws Thrift Shoppe which is adjacent to Family Dollar in TorC. We make every dollar counts.

Our bonded pair of chihuahuas – Chico and Diamond – was rescued at Desert Haven when their human passed away recently. The furry little ones do not have much in the way of insulation in their small four-pound bodies, even with the warm sweaters we bundle them in. Consequently, we are currently looking for a qualified foster home during the next few weeks of this especially cold spell. After their rescue at Desert Haven, we soon realized that both fur-boys have long been in need of serious dental surgery and we committed to take on the financial burden. The qualified local foster home we are searching for is needed to also help the two boys recuperate following their dentals.

This week’s Wish List: Dry and canned cat food. We also need carpet remnants, large and small.  Throughout the Winter season, we routinely cut out sections of used carpet that we lay on the cement flooring of the indoor sections of the indoor-outdoor kennels inside the Inn at Dogtown.
