As a non-profit 501c3 organization, our animal welfare organization remains ever grateful for our generous donors who see the value in the safety and care that we bring to the lives of companion animals in and around Sierra County. Today, we’d like to extend a heartfelt appreciation for those who have already said “yes” to our call for help to repair the damage that a recent and severe storm caused to our sanctuary grounds. The grounds damage has made unsafe walking and driving conditions for our volunteers and visitors alike. Answering our plea for assistance were supporters both near and far. Thank you for the generous support to Jon of Virginia, Carol and Michael and Bill of our community-minded local business Kirikos Family Funeral Home, and Barry, a former work camper who continues to support our cause.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention another local business that has been standing by our side financially for so many years: Bullocks Grocery of TorC. Your Bullocks receipts, when collected for our organization, are turned into dollars through their Cash-for-Clubs program. Over the years, funds raised through the program have been a major contributor to our essential Spay-Neuter program, which in turn helps control the unwanted dog and cat overpopulation in Sierra County. We are so incredibly appreciative of the way that our local businesses care for us.
As always, keep your eye on our Desert Haven page on Petfinder.com (DesertHaven.Petfinder.com). This week alone, several of our little ones have gone home with their new families, including Foxie, Honey, Shiloh, Stormy, and Kiki. Our www.deserthavenanimalrefuge.com website is also an excellent source of information. Our wonderful Camille of Florida, together with her husband Eddie, work camped at Desert Haven when the sanctuary had just opened and still in the building stage. When they moved on after their commitment was over, Camille volunteered to create a web site for us and maintain its content – and she did. We’re so grateful to Camille.
This week’s wish list: Financial aid to help us get our main driveway and side trail graded. Every little bit helps. Contact us at: SCHS & Desert Haven Animal Refuge, PO BOX 638, Williamsburg, NM 87942. Visit us at www.DesertHavenAnimalRefuge.com to click on our donate button to make a contribution via Paypal. We can also be contacted at 575-894-2639 and weR4pets@gmail.com. When leaving phone messages for our volunteers, state your name and phone number very clearly, and twice. We are all in this together, and together, we make a difference.
